The Westkapelle Creek
Discover the Westkapelle Creek
Just a short distance from EuroParcs De Zeeuwse Duinen lies the beautiful Westkapelle Creek, a special nature area where water, woodland and tranquillity come together. The creek was formed during the Second World War in 1944, when the sea dike was bombed and large amounts of seawater flowed into the surrounding land. The deep channels created at the time are now the creeks of Westkapelle.
Walking, cycling and birdwatching
Various walking, cycling and horse-riding trails run around the creek. Take a peaceful walk along the water and through the surrounding woodland, or explore the area around Westkapelle by bike. The creek is also a great spot for birdwatching. You may see cormorants, ducks, geese and other bird species here.
