What is there to do in the area?
Westkapelle
At the very western tip of Walcheren lies Westkapelle. There is plenty to do and see here. Westkapelle beach is, of course, not to be missed. This clean beach is lovely on summer days, but even when the weather is less pleasant you can take long walks on the beach, walk on the dunes (did you know that one of the highest dunes in the Netherlands can be found here?) or take a walk or bike ride through the Westkapelse woods. After a day at the beach or a long walk, settle down in one of the cosy restaurants in the village on the main street or at one of the beach bars. There are also nice shops, lighthouse and museums to visit.
Vlissingen
In Vlissingen, walk along the longest boulevard in the Netherlands, grab a terrace by the harbor or explore the nature and recreation area Nollebos. Other attractions in the port city include the Keizersbolwerk, the Zeeuws maritiem musZEEum and the Arsenal. Vlissingen was also the birthplace of mariner Michiel de Ruyter. On the boulevard, his statue looks out over the water. Between Breskens and Vlissingen, the Westerschelde Ferry (bicycle-foot ferry) sails, taking you very easily to the other side.
Lighthouses Westkapelle
Westkapelle in Zeeland is home to two lighthouses, both of which can be visited. Lighthouse 't Lage Licht on the Zeedijk and lighthouse 't Hoge Licht on the Zuidstraat. From the lighthouse on Zuidstraat, you have a great view over the North Sea, the beach, Walcheren and in brighter weather you can see the coastline of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, Lighthouse 't Lage Licht is right on the coast.
Middelburg
Although a large part of Middelburg was destroyed during a bombing raid in 1940, many historic buildings have been restored to their former glory. Stroll through the idyllic streets and squares of the capital of Zeeland. Also take a look at the Vismarkt, paved with cobblestones and with large chestnut trees and the town hall of Middelburg. Or climb the 90.5 meter high abbey tower 'De Lange Jan'.

About EuroParcs De Zeeuwse Duinen
Vacation park on the coast of Zeeland
Vacation park on the coast of Zeeland
Zeeland, with its salty air and ever-present sea, is a place where nature and culture go hand in hand. Go exploring and explore the area around the vacation park. Westkapelle is a beautiful Zeeland village at the very tip of Walcheren. But also Zoutelande, Vlissingen and Middelburg, the capital of Zeeland, are not far from the vacation park to visit. Did you know that one of the highest dunes in the Netherlands is in Zoutelande? From here you have beautiful views over the long stretched beaches and the cozy promenade.
An oasis of calm
An oasis of calm
The vacation park in itself is a quiet and small-scale vacation park, with only 18 vacation homes. There are no facilities on the park, but of course there is plenty to do and experience in the area. The perfect place for anyone who loves the beach, the sea, space and tranquility. Should you wish to have a bite to eat in the evening, it only takes a few minutes to get to the cozy center of Westkapelle or walk along the beach to one of the beach bars. Enjoy fresh fish dishes, not to mention Zeeland mussels.
Walking on Walcheren
Walking on Walcheren
The region of Walcheren lies partly on the North Sea and partly on the Westerschelde estuary. Through nature reserve De Manteling there are several hiking trails along beautiful country houses from the 17th century and discover the medieval castle Westhove. Don't forget to visit one of Westkapelle's lighthouses: 't Hoge Licht or 't Lage Licht.
